The Albany Avenue School will provide excellence in education by setting goals and high expectations for all, in a safe and orderly environment so that our students can excel to their highest potential. This mission will empower them to utilize world resources as they contribute to and compete in a global community.
Vision Statement
We see our school as the doorway of tomorrow through which each child will be empowered with the knowledge, skills, values and confidence to be a responsible, contributing member of society.
Our Community
P.S. 91 (The Albany Avenue School) is located on the edge of two large Brooklyn communities – Crown Heights and East Flatbush. It’s diverse population includes immigrants from the Caribbean and Lubavitcher Jewish community.
Our school’s unique location lends our students with access to many of Brooklyn’s cultural institutions. We are minutes away from The Brooklyn Museum, The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Prospect Park, The Prospect Park Wildlife Center, The Brooklyn Children’s Museum and The Brooklyn Jewish Children Museum.
In addition, P.S. 91 is surrounded by other educational institutions including Medgar Evers College and Brooklyn College.
The school’s surrounding community has been undergoing a revitalization, as many new homes and businesses are springing up all over. This refreshing burst of energy has been infused into our school’s environment.
The Kings County Medical Center, Downstate Medical Center and Kingsbrook Medical Centers are within a stone’s throw of the school.
The Albany Avenue School is conveniently located near the Kingston Avenue (IRT#3) and Sterling Street (IRT#2) subway lines. In addition, the B43, B46. B17 and B12 bus lines stop near the school.
